Kissed and Made Up

Grocery stores and super markets always make me sleepy… I can never think of the reason why. Recently, however, I found that they’re the perfect places to buy those cheap beauty essentials I don’t actually notice when I’m in a makeup store. Eyeshadows, blushes, and lipsticks are suddenly like these neon lights on a long and dark highway every time I’m in Sephora or a department store.

I went to four grocery/supermarkets over the weekend. Don’t ask why. Here are what I call my “BEAUTESSENTIALS”…

Kleenex Moisturizing Antibacterial Wipes (Enriched with Shea Butter and Aloe), SM Hypermart

I love the smell of this. Lately I’ve started to have a preference for wipes over hand sanitizing gels or alcohol. I feel it takes of dirt/dust/germs better. AND I can use it on my face for a refreshing break ANYWHERE I am.

Olay Total Effects Anti-Ageing Serum, P670, Cherry Foodarama

Don’t judge me. Haha. I just feel I have to start NOW ‘coz I read somewhere that the skin loses collagen at the age of 25. Why not start before that right? Who knows, maybe I can delay this collagen loss ‘til I’m 30.

Nivea Cream, P119, Cherry Foodarama

I don’t know why but beauty junk in tin can or tub packages like this, Vaseline, and Cetaphil moisturizer have this unbelievable effect on me. It makes the product look so unpretentious, haughty even, that I just can’t believe that it won’t work.

Foot File, P75, Cherry Foodarama

If you’ve been following me, you’ll know how obsessed I am with getting foot spas. I wanted a similar foot file they have in Tips ‘n Toes and I finally found one! Vacationing in Singapore and Hong Kong this year means MAJOR MAJOR walking.. so not friendly to my heels! This is definitely my feet’s new best friend.

I don’t wear perfume everyday anymore, I feel it’s too much sometimes. I didn’t exactly want this but it’s been sooo difficult to find my favorite body splash — Dove’s Cucumber Body Splash (I’ve finished 2 bottles already!) I think I like the Lemon Drop scent better… Is that your scent, Yanyan? I love it!

Clean and Clear Oil Control Powder, P100something, SM Hypermart

I needed to replace my old Maybelline Clear and Smooth Mineral face powder ‘coz it was getting old. I couldn’t find one so I got this instead. I’m not so happy with the packaging and how the powder actually looks, but I’ll give it a try anyway.

Lip Ice Sheer Color Lip Conditioner with Mentolatum, P140something, SM Marikina Department Store

I was just so in love with Lip Ice’s basic Strawberry lip balm that I had to get this Color Changeable one. The basic one and this both have that Strawberry scent that’s exactly like Strawberry Push Pop (my favorite!) and are both cooling. The difference is that this one adapts to your lip’s natural color and brightens it up more while the other doesn’t (although it has SPF 15)

MAC 217 Brush, P1250, MAC Store, Rockwell

Okay, this isn’t from a supermarket. I think the price tag already makes that obvious. But I just finally got this recently! Yes, THE eye shadow brush of makeup artists. I’m not even going to say the best, because no other brush is put in the same category. I haven’t used it yet as I’ve been too lazy to play with eye makeup lately but this’ll surely make more appearances in the future if it does live up to its reputation.
